San Diego - Sea World - Everything Else!

Watching the Ducks!
~~~
Petting the Sting Ray!  Kat actually touched them!  Em wouldn't even put her hand close!
~~~

There is a new playground with a few fun rides for the kiddos!  We stopped a couple of times to let the girls just hang out and play.  There was a super tall slide that Em went down about ten times in a row!
Mat and I took turns going with Em, so we didn't puke!  Kat just ran from one ride to the next!
Mat really wanted to go on the ride "Journey to Atlantis', but with the girls with us we couldn't really both go together.  He finally convinced Kat to go with him - and she agreed!  I should have gotten a shot of the whole ride, but I didn't think of it at the time.  This is a major roller coaster ride!  I was really proud of her for going on it!
~~~
We 'splurged' and had lunch at the park.  $50 for lunch!  Ouch!  Oh well, it was a pretty decent meal.  I let the girls each pick a yummy dessert to share.  Em picked frosting with a cupcake attached somewhere! :)  Kat picked a huge piece of chocolate cake!  That's my girl!
Feeding the Flamingos!
~~~

Sea Lions!  Em was amazed with them and that they were so noisy!  They kept 'barking' at us!
~~~
Petting the Star Fish!
Em actually went up to the star fish, but wouldn't touch them.  A little progress by the end of the day, not bad!
~~~
We had so much fun at Sea World!  It is so nice to be able to spend the day together as a family!  We needed the time to be together, since the past couple of months have been kind of rough, especially for the girls!  We haven't had too much time together and we needed a little get away!

San Diego - Sea World Shamu Show!

The Shamu Show was the only show we went to.  Want to know why?  After the little 'movie' at the start and the first whale had came out with her little baby to do some tricks, Em was over it!  She said it was too loud and scary!  Not sure what was scary about it, but I took her out of the stadium and we went to the playground!  At least we got a minute to have a snack and sit down!

This is the only way she would watch the whales!  From afar!

Sea World Dolphins! April 13

The weather was beautiful for our day at Sea World!  We got there shortly after opening and it wasn't crowded at all!  The first animal we came across was the Dolphin Enclosure.  The girls loved it!  We stayed and watched the dolphins play for more than a half an hour!
I was lucky enough to be able to pet one of the dolphins that came right up to us.  Kat tried, but her arm wasn't long enough to reach up over the edge of the pool.  (I think she rally could have reached them, but it was another "I'm freakin' out!" moment!)

The dolphins were so active!  They were doing tricks and playing around!  It was so fun!

Em hates getting her pic taken!

There was an underwater spot to watch the dolphins.  Em loved it!  They were coming up to her and looking at her!  So cool!

San Diego Wild Animal Park - Lots more fun!

We stayed at the Wild Animal Park all morning and afternoon.  The girls loved seeing all of the animals, especially the ones who were free to roam the grounds!
Em loved the birds and ducks that wandered around - as long as they didn't come too close!
When we stopped by the deer petting area, Kat really wanted to feed the deer.  I bought a handful of food and handed it to her.  Before she knew it a deer was right in front of her!  I don't know if it was that it happened so quick, or that she was scared, but as she was throwing the food on the ground, she yelled "I'm freakin' out here!"
Mat and I laughed so hard!  She realized she was freaking out while it was happening!  That phrase became our family inside joke for the rest of the trip!
I did buy another handful of food.  With a little coaxing, time to prepare herself and a calm deer, Kat did great feading the deer!

Daddy is Em's buddy!  He is really great about holding her and toting her around!

~~~
Emma's favorite was the meerkat!  Probably because they couldn't get close to her, and it was the last animal we saw before we left! :)
Funny Story:  As we were getting close o the meerkat exhibit, I said "Oh!  Meerkats!"  Kat thought I was saying "Come here, Kat!"  SO she came up next to me and asked "What?"  I didn't know wht she was talking about until Mat told me what it had sounded like!
Yelling out 'Meerkat' at random times has become another inside joke for our family!
MEERKAT!
When we were leaving the park, I was trying to get a pic of her.  All I could get is this one of her with her new friend she bought with her spending money!
Tired Girls!
Girls were asleep about ten minutes from the park!!!  It also started raining - downpour - right as we left!  Great timing for us - not so much for the people still at the park!!!
~~
We had a blast at the Wild Animal Park!  The girs loved it!  It was warm, but not hot.  The animals were all out playing.  Flowers and trees were in bloom and beautiful!  The rain held off until we left!
Perfect Day!
