Kat's First Day of 3rd Grade!

Kathryn started 3rd grade last week!  She is now at the 'big kid' school!  *sniff*
(K-2 goes in one building and 3-5 goes in another; like having two school right next door).

I can tell she is growing up because she only posed for one 'official' picture!
She is very excited to start 3rd grade.  She has a male teacher this year, he is a retired Air Force guy, and I think he will be a great teacher for her.  Kat says she likes him and he is a nice teacher.  She has already made a couple of new friends at school (which is HUGE for her!)  She will be learning and perfecting her cursive writing, multiplication tables, and lots of other great stuff!
Kat has had a really good first week of school and is excited for this year.

 Here we go!

Emma and I walked her in to the playground and helped her find her class line.
Then it was time for one last hug!

Hope you have a great year!  We love you so much!

Emma's First Day of Preschool!

Emma was soooo excited to start school!  She has been asking for weeks when it would start!  She picked out her outfit for her big day and everything!  She started on Aug 24, but the two days she went that week she only was there for an hour.  Tomorrow will be her 'official' first day of being there for the whole 3 1/2 hours!
She loves school!  She loves playing with her new friends, making crafts, singing songs, and having snack time!  I have a feeling she will be a great student and friend!
I can not believe she is in preschool already!  It seems like yesterday that she was just a baby and we were taking Kat to preschool!  She is such a special girl and has such spunk!  I don't know what we would do without her!
She is such a poser!  When ever I pull out the camera, she strikes a pose!  Love it!

Emma really wanted to buy a new book bag, but I knew they were giving her a new bag.  She is excited to have a bag that is all hers!  She won't even let Kat near it! :)

We love you Emma!  Have a great year in Preschool!

1st day of 2nd Grade!

Kat had her first day of school yesterday! Second grade! Man, do I feel old! I can't believe she is almost 8 years old! She is such a good student and a good example to those around her. So far, she has gotten straight A's (yeah, she has only been to Pre-K thru 1st grade, but it is a great start!) I am proud of her and how talented she is. She loves to draw, and write poems and stories. She is a great dancer and singer. Her sweet personality draws people to her, and I hope she will make some best friends this year that she will have for a while! She already made one friend named Emma. Our Emma thinks she is teasing her, because apparently in 'Emma World' she is the only Emma!!! :)

When we went out to take pics before heading to school, I realized my camera was dead! Ah crap! What to do??? I grabbed Kat's camera, which is a kid's digital camera, I think it is 2mp! So, here are some pictures of her before her first day! (A little blurry in places, and it was really hard to play Photoshop when you start out with bad resolution! A lesson in the importance of having quality pics to begin with! And there are some that I was experimenting with different things, so there is more than one copy. I am still learning Photoshop, and will probably post a bunch of posts with tons of pics as I try to compare and see what looks good and what does not!)

New Lunch box!

New Bookbag!

New Shoes!

All ready for school!

My cute 2nd Grader!
She picked out her outfit that she wanted to wear. It was from Gramma and Grampa Chugg when they were down here. She even picked the little bows in her hair!

Strike a pose!
She can be a sweetheart when she wants to be!

Good Luck Kat! I know you will do great! You have great teacher and know the school now, so I know you will thrive! Continue to learn and to love learning! You have been blessed with so many talents, you need to practice and you will only get better!
Mom and Dad love you so much!
