Happy Birthday Honey!

Mat's Birthday was yesterday!  He is now the ripe ol' age of 32!  Man, we are starting to get old around here!
We had a laid back night, full of pizza, swimming, and homemade cake roll.  Yes, you heard me right!  I made a homemade cake roll!  It is Mat's favorite and usually I buy him a Farr's Cake Roll.  However, those are very hard to come by down here!  So, I figured I could make one!

Here is the cake roll.  I know, it doesn't look super!  However, it tasted delicious!  It was really hard to not have it completely fall apart when rolling it up!  Mat said it tasted really good and he was surprised that it really did taste like Farr's!  I was pretty proud of myself!
Kat insisted on adding candles and singing 'Happy Birthday'!
Mat thought it would be funny to put the candles out with his fingers!  The girls were mortified!
Then he proceeded to blow the other candles out with his nose!  Yup, I married a winner!
And here is one more look at the yummy inside of the cake!
 Happy Birthday hon!
I love you so much and am so grateful to have you in my life!  You are a great daddy and hubby!
I hope this next year is a better year and that you have a great time being 32!
XOXOXOXOXOXO

Time for Cake!

Emma wanted a pink cake with pink frosting and pink ice cream!  Funny for a girl who's favorite color is blue and doesn't like strawberries!  Oh, well!  We indulged her and I made her what she wanted!  Kat picked out the letters and decorated the cake!  Yummy!

She couldn't get the last candle to blow out!  It was kind of funny!  You would have thought it was a trick candle! :)

Sneaking tastes!  Yummy!
(Please ignore Em's hill billy look of overalls without a shirt!  She had to try on her new swimsuit and then it was time for cake.  So, of course, she couldn't put on her birthday outfit!  That would have been too easy!  At least she put a crown on - that makes it all ok!)

Happy Birthday Princess!

It's Great to be Eight!

Today kathryn turned 8 years old!  I can hardly believe that eight years ago I was in the hospital giving birth to her (while watching the SLC Olympic Games)!
She is getting more mature - though not when it comes to dealing with her sister!!!  She is doing great in school and has a good handful of good friends!  She is excited to start going to Activity Days with one of her closest friends, Elise!  She is also still preparing herself to be baptized in a couple of weeks!  (She has a hard time with paying tithing on all of her b-day money!)

I told her she could decide what to do for her birthday. First, she wanted a yummy breakfast.  Mat made bacon & eggs, and french toast!!!  Yummy!

(When she opened up the movie "Phantom of the Opera")
Then she got to open her presents!  She got a bunch of cards in the mail from family and she loved it!  Even though family is far away, she knows she is loved.  That's a very good thing!  Mat and I surprisedher with a couple of things - she gets to go see Phantom of the Opera with me when Aunt Cristin comes down in April! - and Mat is takin gher to Blue Man Group next Saturday!  She is so very excited for both of them.  We told her that now that she is 8 years old she can go to shows!
Em got Kat some HSM sunglasses!

(Finding out about Blue Man Group!)
~
After presents, Kat and I got ready and left for the day.  We went shopping at Old Navy to get her some new shoes for pictures.  We went to Eupohria for her to get her hair done.  (It's a beauty college = cheaper for me!)  She go her hair washed, dried and curled!  She looked so cute!  (I forgot to take pics when her hair was done - sorry!)

Then we went to Target for pictures!  I also let her pick out a new outfit and she used some of her birthday money to buy a new Littlest Pet Shop Toy.  Her pictures turned out really cute (I spent too much money....shhhhh!  Don't tell Mat!)

(Her new outfit, complete with hat!  So cute!)
~
Hopefully I can put up a link to them so you can see them online until I get them back from the studio.
~

When we finally got home tonight, we had cake and ice cream!  Yumm!
~~

We didn't get her a lot of toys for her birthday, but she got show tickets and a day of pampering with mom!  She also got her ears pierced last week!  So, basically, for not getting any toys, this turned out to be one expensive birthday fr her!  (Luckily the Blue Man Tickets were free thru Mat's work!)  And, we still have her birthday party on Saturday!  Geeze!
I love Kat so much!  I am happy that we got to spend the day together having fun and letting her have it ba all about her!  She is growing up and it mkes me sad.  But when I see her making the right choices and being a good friend and leader, it make me happy!  Everyone I work with says she is my 'mini me'!  I don't think it is that great for Kat to be labled my mini, but secretly I love it!  She is my buddy and a sweetheart!!!
HAPPY BITHDAY KAT!!!!

Birthday Time!

Yup, it was my Birthday yesterday. It's not very exciting when you are a grown-up, but we still had a fun day. Kat had school and Mat had work, so Emma and I played all morning. I tried not to do any house work all day - my birthday present to myself!
When Kat got home from school she made me a cake. Then Mat took the girls swimming. I was going to go, but the thought of having a moment to myself sounded delicious! So I stayed in and waited for the cake to bake.
Mat bought Papa Murphy's Pizza for dinner so we didn't have to cook! Yay!
I decided I wanted to watch a movie and just chill all night. So, I picked a movie that we have had for a while (I think it is from Easter from mom and dad Wilson! I found it about a month ago in a box and have wanted to watch it, but we never have!) It is "The Ultimate Gift". Fitting for a birthday, right? It was a great movie! Defiantly a tear jerker! Mat hates sad movies, or when they don't end the way a 'good movie' should. Maybe that's why we don't watch more movies!
It was a nice Birthday, celebrated with my cute little family!

Em and Mom playing and being silly!

Wilson Girls!

Notice how I am holding both of the girls hair out or their faces?
They had just gotten out of the bath and their hair was scary!

We didn't have any candles for the cake, so Mat got a tea light candle and put it on topof my cake! I thought it was hysterical! When I put the cake up closer to my face so Mat could take a pic, I breathed out of my nose and it blew the candle out! This pic is so dorky, but so funny! Good times!

I didn't even make a wish!

is my new haircut/color. My hair has gotten too long and so the day before my birthday I went and got a haircut! I colored it myself. (Too cheap right now to pay someone to do it!) It is shorter in back then I have ever gone. But it is nice to not have a ton of hair! The girls also got haircuts, hopefully I can post some pics of them soon!
Thank you everyone for all of the Birthday wishes, phone calls, cards, and love!
I miss everyone, but it was so nice to talk to family and friends all day! Em was quite annoyed that I was on the phone so much! Thank you! Thank you!

Emma insisted upon a Little Mermaid Cake this year!
It came with a cute pearl bracelet and Ariel toy that Em still is playing with!

If you are wondering why Em is stripped down to her pull-up, it is because we have had plenty of experience with store bought frosting!!!!
