mom....

"Mom! I think my nose is leaking blood!"
- Kat, last night before bed.
She does not get nose bleeds very often - apparently, since she
thought she was just 'leaking blood'! Silly girl!

OCD?

Em decided to empty and organize the shoe basket by the front door!
Mat thinks OCD runs in the family!

I think it is just a 3 year old being a 3 year old! :)

She sure was proud of herself!

P.S. I know, I have way too many pairs of flip flops!

My Sweet Emma

Emma got her hair cut a couple of weeks ago. I told her we needed to take a picture so her Grandma's could see her pretty hair. What started out as one picture, quickly turned into an impromptu photo shoot! She is a little diva when she wants to be! She was directing me on what pictures to take! Silly, sweet Emma!

Back To School!

We finally had a back to school night - 2 weeks after school started! It was actually an "Open House". We got to meet the teachers and see Kat's class room. Her teacher is really nice. She is also LDS! Yay! That made Kat feel good to know! There are a few teachers at her school that are LDS. Kat found out on one of the first days of school when her teacher talked about her missionary son! Kat came home from school and asked if other churches have missionaries. I told her yes, and asked why. She then told me her teacher had mentioned it. That's when we knew. The next day Kat went to school and told her teacher that she went to the same church!
It's good teaching moments similar to this that seem to come up a lot more down here! Kat comes home with lots of questions about why we do certain things and why other don't. I think it will make her little testimony stronger as she grows!
Here Kat is showing us her desk.
The girl that sits next to her is named Emma!
Both of our girls think that's pretty silly!

Kat showing us some of the cute things she has made so far. This doll has a list of things about Kat. They were suppose to make it look like themselves. Her teacher said it is cute that she accessorizes everything and it all matches, etc! She has always been one for the details!

This one is a booklet about Kat and some of the things they have learned.

I told her to do this pic! She is silly!

We are excited about this year. It already seems to be going better than last. She still hates PE (but who wouldn't when it is this hot?!?!). But she loves art and music. She is enjoying her new teacher. If only she wouldn't be so shy and make a few new friends!

What happens....

When your 3 year old wakes up before 5 am? By dinner time she is very sleepy!
~~~
Em had fallen asleep on the couch just before 5 pm. and as soon as I saw, I tried to wake her up. She wouldn't wake up! But knowing that I had to get dinner going, and knowing that if she has a nap (especially so late in the day) she doesn't fall asleep for hours at bedtime, I put her in her chair at the table. She cried for about 10 seconds then realized she could put her head on the table!!! I kind of gave up for a minute while I got some water boiling for pasta.
I came over after a few minutes and nudged her and told her to wake up...
She cried at me for a second (with her eyes still closed)....
She whined a little more....
She yelled when she realized I was taking pics of her....
Then she was back to sleep!
~~~
Silly girl! What's a mom to do? Get back to making dinner and let her poor little girl get some rest. At least, that's what I did!

A random post...

This is a completely random post....

Last night after I put the girls to bed, I walked out to the living room to find Bailey lounging.

Em had been playing earlier in the day and left this blanket and pillow on the floor. I guess Bailey thought it was a pretty nice place to lay down! I think she is a little spoiled!!

Future Royalaire!

On Friday night, Kat performed during halftime of the Roy High Football game. She has done this the past few years and really enjoys it. She did such a good job! She got to go up to the next group of girls this year, so she wasn't with the tiny girls. She was very excited about that!
My mom came with us, and we all had a fun time. Hope you enjoy the pics!

Like mother, like daughter! We are all a little crazy!

We were a silly bunch of people that night!

Kat is the second one in from the right, on the front row.

Shake that groove thang!
